Dear Art & Soul Insider,

This week was supposed to be my vacation. A time to rest, recharge, and maybe even get my hands into the soil and pull a few weeds from my mailbox garden. But instead? I’ve spent every day — from early morning to late evening — in front of my computer, deep in a battle with my storage system.

My Computer Hit Its Limit — And So Did I

You see, my Mac has officially gone over its 2TB storage capacity (sitting stubbornly at 2.1TB), which means I couldn't download, edit, or upload this week’s Art & Soul YouTube video.

Since last Friday, I’ve been:

  • Deleting hundreds of video files

  • Transferring content to an external drive

  • Working with Apple Care

  • And yes, saying goodbye to many of the original video files I’ve created since starting my channel

Despite working more hours than a full-time job, the digital mountain just isn’t budging in the way I hoped.

From Frustration to Reflection

So no — there’s no new art video this week.
But there is something I can offer you.

Because I know I’m not alone in this.
We all have weeks like this — where the world doesn’t cooperate, and your best-laid plans are swallowed by tech, tension, and tasks.

🌿 A Guided Meditation to Help You (and Me) Reset

This week, instead of an art project video, I’m offering you a guided meditation that speaks directly to this kind of week.

It’s designed to:

  • Help you acknowledge and release built-up frustration

  • Create space for presence and breath

  • Gently shift you into a creative, playful mindset

  • Remind you that you don’t need to be caught up to be creative

Whether your own to-do list feels like a mountain or you’re simply feeling off-kilter, this is a chance to come home to yourself — softly and with compassion.

Your Art Time Still Matters

If you've been feeling like you're behind, or like the weeds (literal or emotional!) are growing faster than you can manage… you're not alone.

But even five minutes of art, journaling, colour, or breath can shift everything.
You don’t have to wait for the perfect moment to get creative.
You just have to show up.

With love and paint-stained fingers,
Barbara Lynn Burns

P.S. I’ll be sending the Guided Meditation in a separate post tomorrow. Let it be your invitation to exhale — and return to play. 🎨💛
