Autumn is here, and it’s the perfect time to celebrate the season with a relaxing and creative art project. In Part 2 of my Metallic Fall Watercolours series, we’ll bring the beautiful landscape we sketched last week to life with rich, shimmering colors. Whether you’re an experienced artist or just starting, this project offers something for everyone.

Plus, I’ve included a calming guided meditation and an inspiring oracle card reading to nurture your well-being. Let’s combine art and mindfulness to create a moment of joy in your day!

What You'll Need for This Project

For this session, we’re highlighting Winsor & Newton’s Iridescent Medium, which adds a magical shimmer to your watercolours. But don’t worry if you don’t have it—you can also use:

  • Metallic watercolours
  • Regular watercolours
  • Tempera paint
  • Acrylic paint
  • Gouache

And, of course, you’ll need your sketch from Part 1, where we outlined the hills, trees, mountains, and sky of our autumn-inspired landscape.

Step 1: A Guided Meditation to Ground Yourself

Before we begin painting, let’s take a moment to center ourselves with a calming Guided Meditation. This session focuses on the idea that all feelings are acceptable, reminding us to embrace our emotions without judgment. A few minutes of mindfulness can help you enter a creative flow and enjoy the process even more.

Step 2: Painting Your Metallic Fall Landscape

Now it’s time to add color and life to your sketch! Using shimmering metallic paints or the iridescent medium, we’ll layer vibrant autumn hues onto the hills, trees, and sky. The result? A glowing, magical landscape that captures the essence of fall.

If you missed Part 1, don’t worry! You can start with any sketch you love or use simple shapes to create your own version of the scene.

Step 3: Oracle Card Inspiration

Every session ends with a thought-provoking Oracle Card Reading, and today’s card comes from Tips for Living by Iyanla Vanzant. It asks: “How do you nurture yourself?” This powerful reminder encourages us to find ways to care for our minds and bodies daily.

How do you nurture yourself? Through art, mindfulness, or quiet reflection? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Why Metallic Fall Watercolours Are Perfect for This Season

Autumn is a season of transformation and beauty, making it the ideal time for a project like this. The shimmering metallic paints mimic the glow of golden leaves, while the guided meditation helps you pause and reflect on this time of change.
