Experimenting with Watercolor: A Creative Journey
As an Art Teacher & Wellness Practitioner with over 25 years of experience, I believe in the power of both learning and playing when it comes to creativity. In this video, I push the boundaries of watercolor by trying six unique techniques—some successful, some not-so-much (looking at you, Press 'n Seal! ๐). But that’s part of the fun!
Here’s what I experimented with:

๐๏ธ Spritzing water on watercolor pencil crayons for soft blending.

๐จ Applying watercolor thickly from the tube with a card for rich texture.

โ๏ธ Using sandpaper with watercolor pencil crayons for a speckled effect.

๐งด Testing Press 'n Seal (which, spoiler alert, didn’t work!)

โ๏ธ Sprinkling salt on wet watercolor to create stunning textures.

๐ช Applying acrylic paint with a palette knife for added dimension.
The best part? You don’t need fancy supplies! If you don’t have watercolors, feel free to substitute with tempera paint, gouache, pencil crayons, acrylics, or gel pens—whatever sparks your creativity!
