A New Chapter Begins: Embracing #WednesdayWins with a Part-Time Purpose
Welcome back to #WednesdayWins, your weekly dose of gratitude and positivity! This week, I have some exciting news to share – I'm thankful for the incredible opportunity to start a new chapter as a Recreational Therapy Assistant in the local hospital's long-term care unit. On September 18th, I'll be stepping into this meaningful role, working alongside a dedicated Recreational Therapist to enhance the lives of 23 clients who rely on our support.
Background check
The journey to this role has been filled with anticipation and preparation. One crucial step involves obtaining a Criminal Record Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check, a process I'm more than willing to undergo. While my extensive 25-year teaching career doesn't exempt me from these checks, I'm enthusiastic about the chance to contribute to the well-being of others in a different capacity.
Nurture my business
What excites me the most about this part-time position is the flexibility it offers. I'll still have ample time to nurture my own business, where I'm passionate about creating content, running ads, and developing new courses. This balance between my job and my entrepreneurial endeavors allows me to continue pursuing my creative aspirations while making a positive impact on those who need it most.
Brother's sharing
One of the most heartwarming aspects of embarking on this new journey is the support and encouragement I've received from my loved ones. My brother shared some touching words that perfectly encapsulate my feelings: "You will do awesome and will be a light in the LT Care Unit. Your compassion, empathy, and authenticity will come shining through." These words serve as a reminder of the profound difference we can make when we approach our work with genuine care and kindness.
Positive Impact
As I look ahead to the start of this new role, I'm filled with gratitude and a deep sense of purpose. Being able to support and engage with individuals in the long-term care unit is a privilege, and I'm eager to embark on this journey of making a positive impact in their lives.
