Real Gold Leaf starts out as a 5mm gold nugget that is then flattened into a sheet by hammering it down. Imitation Gold Leaf is much cheaper and the metal leaf can come in a variety of colours (silver, copper with blue, green and etc.). It can go on almost anything (statues, clay or metal pots, paintings, crafts and more).
To adhere it to your object, first put the adhesive down and then the gold leaf on top of the adhesive (I use Gold Leaf adhesive). Once that is dry, then put on the sealant so it lasts a long time (I use Gold Leaf sealant).
For my upcoming course 'My World Rocks!', you'll be using Gold Leaf on a few projects. It adds such a wonderful touch to the rocks and shimmers so lovely.
