Dotting Fall Trees Part 1: Relaxing Art & Sensory Meditation
Welcome to a creative journey that combines art, mindfulness, and the vibrant colors of fall! 🍂 In this week’s video, “Dotting Fall Trees – Part 1,” I’ll guide you through a fun and relaxing process to create a beautiful autumn-inspired artwork while exploring tools, techniques, and a calming sensory meditation. Whether you’re an experienced artist or just starting out, this project offers a joyful way to unwind and express yourself.
🎨 Featured Supply: Dot-Making Tools
Dot art is incredibly versatile and therapeutic, and in this session, we’ll explore three types of tools often used for creating intricate patterns and designs:
1️⃣ Plastic Cylinders: Various diameters with flattened ends for perfect dots.
2️⃣ Ball-Bearing Tools: Handles with different-sized metal balls at the tips.
3️⃣ Small Ball-Bearing Tools: Compact tools with small balls on each end for fine detail.
No tools? No problem! I also share everyday household items you can use, like pencil erasers, paintbrush ends, Q-tips, bobby pins, or even DIY options with a blade and a white eraser.
🧘♀️ Guided Meditation: A Sensory Experience
Before we dive into the art project, let’s take a moment to center ourselves. This week’s guided meditation focuses on sights, sounds, and smells in an imagined scenario, allowing you to connect with your senses and clear your mind. It’s the perfect way to transition into a creative state of flow.
🍁 Art Project: Dotting Fall Trees – Part 1
In this first part of our “Dotting Fall Trees” series, we’ll work on:
- Crafting a textured background to set the scene.
- Painting the ground to anchor the artwork.
- Designing the tree trunk and branches, which will form the framework for next week’s dotted leaves.
This step-by-step process is designed to be easy, fun, and achievable with whatever materials you have at hand. The result will be a stunning piece that captures the spirit of the season.
🌟 Stay tuned for Part 2, where we’ll bring the tree to life with vibrant, colorful dots for the leaves!
✨ Oracle Card Reading: A Thought to Reflect On
At the end of our session, I draw two cards from the Namaste: Blessing & Divination Cards by Toni Carmine Salerno:
- A Sea of Blessings reminds us that the Universe is a projection from within us, and we are a reflection of it.
- A Blessed Heart encourages us to look inward when we feel something is missing in our lives.
These inspiring messages add a layer of reflection to our creative practice, leaving us with something meaningful to carry into our day.
