Today is a rainy #TuesdayToolsAndTechniques , and here I am inside and feeling cozy. Tomorrow is a trip into the city, as I have a little dental surgery. Don't worry all is fine. I am so fortunate that I am getting this attended to (compared to have-not countries).
Today I want to share with you fluid acrylics. I shared this with my FaceBook Group (Art & Soul Insider) last Saturday, during our weekly Creation Time (see more information about this below). Regular acrylics is a more recent invention. In the 1930's, in Germany, acrylics were born. In the 1950's, acrylics became popular as it was used for painting houses, and thereby caught the eye of artists. In the 1960's acrylics became common place in art stores where seasoned and beginning artists could work with acrylics. Fluid acrylics were created after that.
I love how intense the colours are...as in, despite being more 'watery,' the colours have not been diluted. You can still get colours that are opaque and semi-transparent. I have fun with them by adding more some water to them and spreading them across my canvas to create a colourful base; it is great for abstract work I find. I find with the brand, Golden, they have a great colour selection to set your creative urges! so, maybe give them a try; you just might like this newer kid on the block.
This Wednesday (tomorrow the 26th) there will be no Art & Soul Insider Creation Time, as I have dental surgery. But catch me next Saturday, April 29th at 10am (MST).
