Today I took the stray cat that came to our house, and then came into our home (and hearts), to the vet for a check up and to be neutered. He was coming around out house since summer time, and as the weather got cooler, we got hime a cat house with a heated floor. Then one snowy day he came to our back door, per usual, snow covered in -25C. I was brushing the snow off him and made matters worse as it melted and his fur was wet. So wet fur and -25C are not good for an outdoor kitty. So we opened the door to see if he would come in.... and he did. At first when he came in, we intended to foster him and give him to SCARS (Second Chance Animal Rescue Society). But it seemed SCARS had no fosters or homes available so they couldn't take him; in fact, they were even turning away kittens! We didn't want to take him into our home, as we already have three other rescues... in our place where my partner and I dubbed it as a 'two cat household.' But the more we spent time with him, we fell in love with him. He is a sweet, talkative, affectionate and smart, and so, we have named him Quattro (meaning 'four' in Italian).
So today, trying to get him in the carry case was a nightmare. He hid behind couches, our massive CD collection, under tables and more. We all were running around the house; we were sweating (honestly!!!). Now, I'm not a newbie to this, as I KNOW how to put a cat in a carrier, but he is big and strong and contorted his body to ensure he would not go in. So we referred to the lidded Recycling box we put out every Monday! We attempted 3 times with that, but we were finally successful.
