Remembrance Day 2024

Lest we forget Remembrance Day visual

Today, we pause to observe Remembrance Day—a day of reflection, gratitude, and honoring those who have made incredible sacrifices for our freedoms. It’s a time to remember the courage of individuals who fought and continue to fight for the rights we enjoy today. It’s also an opportunity to acknowledge the families who supported them and lived through the hardships of war.

As Canadians, we are fortunate to live in a country built on resilience, kindness, and the strength of community. I am grateful for the freedoms we often take for granted—the ability to be ourselves, to live our truth, and to speak our minds. Remembrance Day reminds me to never lose sight of how precious these freedoms are and the sacrifices that made them possible.

We are fortunate to have a healthcare system that cares for us, a society that values inclusivity and equality, and a country that acknowledges its responsibility to future generations. As a woman, I am proud of the autonomy I have over my body, and I feel deep gratitude for the environment in which we live and the steps we’re taking to protect it.

Today, as you go about your day, I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on your own blessings and to remember those who have shaped the world we live in. Let’s honor them by carrying forward the spirit of compassion, resilience, and kindness that has always been the heart of our nation.

Thank you for being part of my wonderful community. Together, we can continue to create spaces of healing and connection, just as those before us worked toward a world filled with peace and possibility.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Barbara
